Retractable Lifelines Safety Blocks and Load Arresters.

Retractable Lifelines can be used in a wide range of work situations where extra mobility is required.

Typically the mechanical device is anchored to an approved overhead anchorage to eliminate interference with ladders and vertical work surfaces. Care should be taken to address the "pendulum" or "swing" action of the fall arrest when Retractable Lifelines are in use. see swing chart below. All units have a safe workload of 350 pounds.

Retractable Lifelines feature an internal spring mechanism that allows normal controlled movement away from the device. Any sudden movement, accidental slip or fall activates the inertial brake system. It functions much like a seat belt, once activated it stops the action of the fall. An energy absorber is built into the braking system and will stop a fall in less than one foot.
